Ginny
Submitted by: Ron Olson
In James 5:16, it tells us “the prayers of a righteous man (or woman) is powerful and effective.” I truly believe in heartfelt, continued prayer and its power to change people’s lives. It is God who determines how he will answer and we have been asked by him to pray for each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. Based on the above premise (Faith in God\'s Word), I am sending this note to you and seeking special prayer for Ginny and her family. Please see the note below that outlines the concerns and need for prayer. If possible, please send Ginny a note and let her know other Christians are praying for her. Ginny’s dad\'s address is as follows: John Gilbreath 7901 Jester Blvd. Austin, Texas 78750 Thank you, Ron Olson John’s Note: I received your call last night. Ginny has been a type 1 diabetic for 36 years and has the classic long-term effects of the disease: kidney failure, anemia, edima, and seizure disorder as well as open wounds that will not heal. Life for her and her husband is a struggle every day. She is living on government sponsored medical care and disability compensation. Unfortunately, she can no longer travel and cannot come to the US, which saddens her very much. But amid all the suffering she is enduring, she has a strong faith in Jesus Christ and gets comfort knowing that God is control and that He loves her and that people here are praying for her. Her current treatment protocal is a follows: 1 - Treat the non-healing wounds with surgery and skin grafts; 2 - Preparation for kidney dialysis. She will have to have surgery to implant importation devices to remove and replace her blood during the dialysis treatments which will be 2 or 3 times a week for 4 - 5 hours each; 3 - If she is able to tolerate the dialysis, she will go on a waiting list for a kidney and pancreas transplant when the organs become available. Unfortunately, someone has to die to donate both organs; 4 - If she has a transplant, we would pray that her body wound not reject the organs. However, she would have to live on anti-rejection drugs for the balance of her life and endure the side effects of those drugs. As grim as this all sounds, it is all possible by the grace of God. If He decides to bless Ginny in any of these steps, then He alone gets the glory. Naturally, as her father, I grieve over my daughters situation. The only comfort I can find is thru contact with my Lord and Savior and Christian friends. The prayer support offered by you and the class at Hyde Park will get us all thru this. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and friendship, God bless you in every way. Happy thanksgiving.
